Senior Furniture Product Developer
We are looking for a Furniture Product Developer to lead and manage the development of our Furniture range taking designs through to product launch. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience and be able to provide technical support, manage and support quality and compliance, and have a good understanding the global sourcing. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our London office, and reports into the Head of Product.
About the Role
Tom Dixon furniture ambitions are developing rapidly with the ambition to form a larger part of our growing business. As such we have recently launched new upholstery and new outdoor categories, and have an exciting product pipeline ahead. We are looking for a dynamic Senior Furniture Product Developer to help us achieve our ambitions. Working as part of the Product Development team, reporting into the Head of Product, you will manage the development process through from design to finished product ensuring our products meet with the business needs, quality and standards.
More specifically you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Furniture Product Development working with the Designer and Product Technologist. Your role will involve working with our suppliers, managing the development process ensuring we are engineering products of the highest quality and longevity, that are globally compliant.
- Construction design and SolidWorks modelling to an appropriate standard for direct tooling from CAD file. Deliver 2D and 3D CAD files, drawings and supporting information on range products for external and internal use.
- Managing the delivery of new products through a robust and well-managed critical path, from concept to launch. Support on pre-launch activity, retail, training.
- Providing pivotal input into the furniture product strategy through research and insights, with the aim to create Product Launch Range Plans that deliver revenue and cogs numbers.
- Manage the development of products into existing suppliers and identify and assist in sourcing where there are identified specific production requirements.
- Ensure the business has the highest quality of product data for all products.

More specifically:
- A seasoned product developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in Furniture Development.
- Familiarity with global sourcing for upholstery, wooden and metal furniture
- Proven experience in working with designers and engineers
- Highly proficient in CAD and Solid works, 3d and 2d skills
- Proficient in excel
- Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude
- Excellent communications skills to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders, able to present to senior management.
