Our Studio Design Research Studio (DRS) is the innovations and design agency at the heart of Tom Dixon, working on the spaces, products, and brands of tomorrow. A restless innovator, Tom established DRS in 2002 to explore new ideas with global partners, brands, developers, and entrepreneurs. Rich in narrative, our fast-growing portfolio spans interior design, product design, graphics, and brand experience. About the Role This is a pivotal role within our studio, leading the creative and technical delivery of high-profile hospitality, retail and residential projects. As a Senior Interior Designer, you’ll be more than a project lead - you’ll be a future business leader, taking ownership of projects, mentoring others, and helping to steer the creative direction of the studio, reporting to our MD and Creative Director.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Design Leadership – develop and present standout hospitality, retail and residential concepts that align with client vision and the Tom Dixon design language.
- Portfolio Ownership – lead project portfolios with autonomy and accountability from concept to completion.
- Project and Team Management – oversee multiple interior projects, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor junior designers.
- Client Engagement – build lasting relationships and present proposals with confidence and clarity.
- Technical Expertise – lead on space planning, FF&E specification, construction drawings, and tender documentation.
- Collaboration – work seamlessly with architects, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to deliver world-class spaces globally.
- Quality Assurance – ensure design excellence, profitability, and smooth project delivery at every stage.
- Business Growth – play an active role in developing and growing DRS’s hospitality portfolio strategically.
About You We’re looking for a globally minded designer with exceptional taste, curiosity, and sensitivity to both the aesthetics of the present and the craft of the past. You will balance creativity, technical precision, and project leadership - thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
We are looking for:
- At least 8 years’ experience in interior design, with a minimum of 6 years in hospitality design (hotels, restaurants, or branded spaces).
- Proven ability to lead concept development, space planning, and styling for hospitality environments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Confidence in presenting to clients, leading teams, and managing complex project relationships.
- A natural leader - adaptable, supportive and inspiring.
- Ambition and drive - eager to take on responsibility, grow with the business, and push creative boundaries.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - a people person who thrives in collaboration.
- Experience managing designers and project teams.
What We Offer For the right candidate, we offer a competitive remuneration package, opportunities for career growth, and the chance to shape the next generation of hospitality spaces around the world.
