We are looking for an ambitious and highly creative Interior Designer with good experience in the hospitality sector, particularly in the design of hotels, restaurants, and branded lifestyle spaces, to join our growing team of design experts in London.
Design Research Studio (DRS) is a design and innovations consultancy working on the products, spaces and brands of tomorrow. The studio works with a wide variety of global clients across products, interiors, architecture, graphics, branding and content. Linking into our network of design and manufacturing partners, our studio realises projects globally.
This role is part of our interior design team where you'll be working alongside peers and senior interior designers to successfully deliver various design projects.
- Project management: Work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing the project timeline, deliverables and budget under the guidance of a senior designer or associate.
- Concept and design development: Contribute to creative design development by preparing mood boards, colour schemes, FF&E proposals and schedules.
- Client and contractor liaison: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and work with contractors to ensure designs are implemented correctly. Attend site meetings, monitor progress, resolve design queries, and assist with on-site installation and final snagging.
The ideal candidate brings a balance of creativity, technical design, and project management. They will be able to work in a fast-paced truly modern design studio.
- Minimum of three years experience within an Interior Design professional practice.
- Strong technical knowledge with understanding of construction details, finishes, materials, and space planning.
- Considers the relationship between creativity and technical design as fluid and is able to confidently deliver a design vision through all project stages.
- A strong creative vision and ability to translate ideas into practical designs.
- Works with the following software: AutoCAD, Rhino, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Has a hands-on approach and is willing to take initiative to support & deliver extraordinary projects.
