About the role We’re looking for a Credit Manager to join our finance team. This is a newly created role that will manage two Credit Controllers. You will have extensive credit control experience with the ability to thrive in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment. This role is a full-time, permanent role based at our office at Kings Cross, London. The role reports into the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities The Credit Manager will report into the Finance Manager to oversee that all transactions are posted with any required reporting done accurately within the agreed deadlines. The main responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the collection of a multi-currency global customer base, with a high volume of smaller customer accounts
  • Monitor aged debt and ensure appropriate actions are taken to minimize overdue balances
  • Work closely with the sales and trade services teams to ensure customer accounts are maintained efficiently
  • Liaise with clients regarding outstanding debts and resolve disputes or queries promptly
  • Produce and analyse debtor reports for senior management, providing insight and recommendations
  • Support the month-end process, ensuring accurate reporting of debtor balances
  • Implement and improve credit control policies and procedures
  • Evaluate credit risk and set credit limits in line with company policy
  • Manage and lead the credit control team, setting targets and monitoring performance
  • Assist in the year end audit process relating to receivables

  • Experience with an AR ledger with a high volume of smaller accounts, ideally within furnishing, furniture, home sector industry
  • Experience with wholesale and contract customers
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Pro-active team player and happy to cover if one of the credit controllers is away
  • Proficiency with Excel is essential
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft Navision would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience with department store portals would be beneficial
