Large independent firm seeks a Trust Tax Director to head a trust team across the South West. This is an exciting opportunity to live in a beautiful part of the world with offices in Poole, Salisbury, Exeter, and Truro.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Trust team’s work complies with legislative and ethical standards.
  • Assist the team in resolving client issues, ensuring delivery within timescale and budget.
  • Manage a team of advisors and lead their professional development.
  • Liaise with clients, including Trustees, Beneficiaries, individuals, and intermediaries, to provide excellent service.
  • Act as principal on a portfolio of trust and HNW clients, reviewing and signing off advice.
  • Review and advise on trust accounts.
  • Contribute to marketing and development of trust services.
  • Collaborate to grow the team and trust business.
  • Help upskill colleagues in other departments to manage risk and identify opportunities.
  • Meet with clients to understand and advise on their tax planning needs, overseeing work by team members.
  • Work with Private Client tax partners to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Promote other departments’ services, including financial planning.
  • Ensure work is allocated appropriately and departmental targets are met.
  • Assist with the operation of a trust corporation.

About You:

  • Experience as a senior manager or director in a similar role.
  • ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent), with up-to-date technical knowledge; STEP qualification is desirable.
