Elderly Knowledge of the benefit and care system; Ongoing management of clients’ property and financial affairs all carried out to the standards the Office of the Public Guardian expects of a professional deputy; Understanding a client’s financial position and what care funding or benefits they are entitled to; Making sure a family’s practical worries are being addressed and not just their paperwork; Knowing when something does not feel right and needs a safeguarding conversation rather than a straightforward instruction. Additional requirements of this role: You must be able to listen before you advise, and you can explain complex instructions in an easily understandable manner; You are comfortable You are proactive rather than instruction led: you spot the next issue before you are told to look for it; Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines; Professional and attentive telephone manner, coupled with strong interpersonal skills; Capability to handle pressure and effectively prioritise tasks whilst managing a demanding workload; Assisting in marketing initiatives; Team player.
