OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role supports data-driven decision-making by providing actionable insights into transport operations, fleet utilisation, delivery performance, route optimisation, and compliance outcomes. The Transport Data Analyst works closely with operational teams, contract management, and stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure contractual and customer requirements are met. This description serves as a guideline, and management may assign other tasks to support business growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS/LEVEL OF AUTHORITY
Evidence-based insights to support governance and reporting requirements.
To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:
- Knowledge/Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in data analytics, transport analytics, logistics reporting, or operational performance analysis
- Experience with Data Reconciliation and Invoicing
- Experience within transport, logistics, supply chain, Defence, or complex operational environments
- Experience analysing large datasets to identify operational trends and business improvements
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, and other visualisation platforms
- Experience working with transport management systems (TMS), fleet management systems, ERP systems, or logistics platforms
Technical/Professional Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to transform complex data into meaningful operational insights
- Strong attention to detail and data validation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present findings and recommendations to operational and management stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of transport performance metrics, fleet utilisation analysis, and operational reporting methodologies
Qualifications - Education and/or professional
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, data modelling, or business intelligence platforms highly desirable
- Experience within Defence, government, or regulated transport environments advantageous
