Join to apply for the Trainee Financial Accountant role at Tokio Marine Kiln Join to apply for the Trainee Financial Accountant role at Tokio Marine Kiln We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Financial Accountant to join our Finance department here at Tokio Marine Kiln . Reporting into the Syndicate Finance Manager, you will assist the Finance team in the preparation of the financial books and records in a timely and accurate manner to ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements. The role will be based within the Financial Reporting team but will include a rotation across the various functions within the Finance department (including Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, Treasury and Accounts Payable), which will enable the individual to develop their knowledge and experience across the wider Finance function. Study support towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA or other appropriate qualification) will be provided. This role includes responsibility for: Calculation and preparation of key accounting journals Production of key reconciliations Assist in the production and timely submission of annual and quarterly regulatory returns Assist in the production of analytical reviews on performance and financial position Assist in the preparation of VAT returns Assist with the implementation of new processes to ensure that any reporting changes from Lloyd\’s of London and other internal or external parties are delivered efficiently Assist in the development of systems and databases to increase efficiency and the level of automation Review information received by other departments for inclusion in financial returns Liaison with internal and external auditors Ad hoc departmental duties as required Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a degree in a STEM/Business/Economics subject and will be committed to pursuing a professional accounting qualification. They will also be proficient in using a variety of Microsoft office applications including Excel. Organisational and time management skills are essential for this role, as are analytical skills.
