Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) are recruiting for a permanent Infrastructure Specialist to join our IT team reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Manager. This is a key role where you’ll support, maintain and enhance our core infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, secure and operating at optimal performance. Working across both project and BAU activity, you will play a critical part in delivering infrastructure improvements, resolving complex technical issues, and supporting business‑critical systems. You’ll also act as a technical lead on key initiatives and contribute to the continual improvement of our IT environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd line support, resolving infrastructure incidents within agreed SLAs
  • Design, implement and support new infrastructure services and enhancements
  • Manage and maintain servers, backups, monitoring tools and security patching
  • Support and participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Act as technical lead on infrastructure changes and projects
  • Proactively identify and implement service improvements
  • Ensure high availability of systems with minimal disruption
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on IT initiatives
  • Participate in an on‑call rota and provide out‑of‑hours support where required
  • Share knowledge and contribute to documentation and best practice across teams

About You

  • Strong experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365)
  • Experience with VMware and virtualised environments
  • Working knowledge of Linux‑based server operating systems
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience supporting complex infrastructure environments (compute, storage, networking)
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python)
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g. CommVault)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
