Reporting to the Senior Cyber Actuary, this is a highly analytical role at the intersection of cyber risk, data, catastrophe modelling, and underwriting strategy. You’ll play a key role in helping the Group understand, quantify, and manage cyber risk.

Working closely with cyber actuaries, underwriters, and data specialists, you’ll analyse exposure and claims data, develop scenarios, and support cyber accumulation control across both affirmative and non‑affirmative cyber coverages.

  • Produce high‑quality reports, including PDF reports and Power BI dashboards.
  • Cleanse and process exposure and claims data into SQL databases.
  • Support the enhancement of the Group’s cyber accumulation control framework.
  • Maintain and challenge cyber scenarios, using alternative quantification methods including cyber vendor models.
  • Calculate PML figures to help shape Group‑level cyber risk appetite.
  • Support third‑party cyber model validation and engage with the vendor modelling landscape.
  • Communicate the Group’s Cyber View of Risk to senior stakeholders, clearly explaining uncertainty while maintaining credibility.
  • Contribute to future data development initiatives, including textual analysis and machine learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in cyber security and cyber risk research.
What We’re Looking ForEssential experience and knowledge:
  • Background in catastrophe modelling, exposure management, or cyber risk analytics.
  • Experience building cyber scenarios, including narrative development and loss calculations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong capability in R or Python.
  • Comfortable working with statistics and probability theory.
  • Confident communicating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
Desirable:
  • Master’s degree (or higher) in a mathematical / data science related discipline, and/or cyber insurance experience.
  • Formal cyber security qualifications or training.
  • Understanding of the cyber model ecosystem.

  • Able to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team.
  • Strong task management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Why Join Us?
  • Work at the forefront of global cyber risk and catastrophe analytics.
