  • Work closely with underwriting teams, brokers and third parties to agree and implement new or amended wordings.
  • Act as a specialist referral point and coach, providing expert advice, guidance and constructive challenge on wording-related matters.
  • Proactively identify contractual, wording or market issues and deliver practical, commercially appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain ownership and momentum of complex wording negotiations through to final agreement.
  • Support underwriting and claims teams on technical wording issues to enable effective decision-making and claims outcomes.
  • Contribute to product development, market research and analysis of emerging trends and market practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s requirements, market best practice and TMK’s underwriting standards and controls.
  • Support regulatory activities, including reviews and responses, with a focus on fair customer outcomes.
  • Represent TMK at relevant market committees, forums and industry working groups where required.
  • Contribute to training, knowledge sharing and the continuous development of wording capability across the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong technical expertise and credibility, along with a collaborative and pragmatic mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance contracts, policy wordings and customer communications.
  • Strong understanding of London Market practice, including reinsurance wordings.
  • Experience with regulatory and contractual considerations across multi-jurisdictional business, including US surplus lines and non-admitted risks.

  • Solid understanding of underwriting and claims operations.
  • Excellent drafting skills and a high standard of written English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong commercial judgement, balancing regulatory compliance with business objectives.
  • Clear, confident communicator, able to influence, challenge constructively and build consensus at all levels.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and market best practice.
