We are looking for a Catastrophe Risk Lead to join our Exposure Management team here at Tokio Marine Kiln. Reporting into the Assistant Head of Exposure Management, you will play a key role in leading the analysis and exposure management for non‑natural catastrophe lines of business with a focus in Political Violence & Terrorism (PVT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PVT exposure management within EMT’s Non‑Nat Cat (NNC) sub‑team, providing subject matter expertise on accumulation methodology and aggregation systems used for PVT.
  • Establish and develop efficient, scalable processes, workflows, and tools to enable cross‑divisional aggregation and monitoring of PVT exposure for TMK.
  • Provide analytical support to underwriting teams, both pre‑ and post‑bind, to support risk selection, portfolio management and reinsurance purchasing.
  • Actively seek to establish, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Own and lead the Exposure Management cycle for non‑natural catastrophe risks, including data capture and validation, analysis and interpretation of results, and clear, concise reporting to stakeholders.
  • Deliver data manipulation and analysis to support ongoing development projects, including tools for risk aggregation, pricing and underwriting support, evaluation, implementation and improvement of catastrophe risk management systems, software and models.
  • Champion continuous improvement of day‑to‑day Exposure Management processes, tools and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy and insight.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) with deep technical knowledge of catastrophe modelling software and associated TMK processes, supporting non‑natural catastrophe analytics, EMT development and innovation projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in exposure management for NNC lines of business including PVT, or natural catastrophe experience with an interest to transition into NNC areas.
  • Experience in Moody’s RMS software, data and models, including RiskLink, ExposureIQ and RiskModeler, is highly advantageous.
  • Awareness or experience with terrorism‑specific exposure management software such as Sequel Impact, Spatial Key, AdGo or similar.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the (re)insurance industry, including a solid understanding of the London Market.
  • Demonstrated willingness to take ownership and lead stakeholder and customer issues, seeing matters through to resolution.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including working closely with and/or supporting underwriting teams.
