We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Transformation team and play a critical role in delivering our flagship Underwriting Workbench programme. This permanent opportunity places you at the centre of a major strategic initiative aimed at modernising underwriting capabilities across our London Market business. Reporting into the Head of Business Analyst & Testing Services, you’ll act as a trusted partner to Underwriters, Operations, Technology, and third‑party partners—ensuring business needs are translated into scalable, future‑ready solutions that strengthen our market competitiveness.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead business analysis activity across the full lifecycle of the Underwriting Workbench programme.
- Build strong relationships with Underwriters and operational teams to understand workflows, challenges, and strategic goals.
- Elicit, analyse and document complex business requirements—ensuring clarity, alignment and traceability.
- Work with Testing teams to ensure all requirements are SMART and testable.
- Shape the future Target Operating Model for underwriting.
- Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders across underwriting and operations.
- Translate London Market processes (pre-bind, bind, endorsements, renewals, delegated authority) into actionable system and data requirements.
- Collaborate with Architecture and Technology teams to ensure solution alignment with enterprise strategy.
- Support system implementations and configuration.
- Drive process optimisation, automation opportunities, and improvements to data quality.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and market standards (e.g., Lloyd’s, messaging standards, reporting obligations).
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Business Analysts.
- Actively contribute to Business Analysis & Business Transformation team activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst within the London Market insurance sector (ideally within a managing agent).
- Strong understanding of underwriting processes across the end‑to‑end policy lifecycle.
- Experience working on underwriting platforms or workbench implementations.
- Proven track record of delivering large‑scale change or major transformation programmes in complex insurance environments.
- Strong relationships and direct engagement experience with senior Underwriters.
- Excellent knowledge of the London Market ecosystem: Lloyd’s, brokers, coverholders, delegated authority, bordereaux, PPL, and relevant messaging standards.
- Familiarity with BPMN, UML or similar process modelling notations.
- Experience working within Agile and hybrid delivery frameworks.
- Proficiency with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, and Lucidchart.
