Job Purpose:
- Assist the Lloyd\’s Syndicate Reporting Team with the accurate and timely production of all Lloyd\’s Syndicate Reporting.
- Support the Lloyd\’s Senior Syndicate Accountants in maintaining compliance and ensuring the production of all Syndicate accounting reports in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide feedback to improve and develop processes and reporting, considering the entire end-to-end accounting process.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of Lloyds Reports.
- Support the compilation of all syndicate reporting in line with Lloyd\’s reporting guidelines and reporting timetable.
- Analysis of technical accounts and non- technical accounts to support audit.
- Support the preparation of the interim and year-end statutory accounts and notes.
- Support the analytical review and commentary of business performance and position by class for management.
- Provide support for the UK GAAP entries posted to the General Ledger on a quarterly basis.
- Support the production of the High-Level Plan (HLP) and the Syndicate Business Plan (SBF)
- Working with the wider Finance Team to understand and improve process to support Lloyd\’s reporting granularity
Support the Lloyd\’s Syndicate Reporting Team
- Continually review own objectives in line with team goals.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Use a collaborative approach when working with others.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and \’end to end process\’ thinking.
Other ad-hoc tasks as necessary
- Support the Lloyds Reporting team and wider Finance department on strategic projects as required.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Insurance Accounting Experience.
- Experience in practical accounting.
- Methodical approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Working knowledge of the London Insurance Market from both a Lloyd\’s and Company Market perspective.
- Excel experience
Desirable:
- Experience of multiple underwriting systems
- General Ledger: PeopleSoft.
- Experience of producing financial reports
Soft Skills:
- Professional approach and delivery of work product.
