Senior Claims Adjuster - Power Generation

Location: Aldgate, City of London

Position Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week

Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

Job Purpose: To manage and handle Power Generation claims within the London Market Claims team. Reporting to the Energy Claims Manager in the day-to-day operation and control of the claims function, to ensure that Power Generation claims are settled in a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate effective market representation, the ability to skilfully negotiate complex claims, and the capacity to provide underwriters with accurate reserving data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Producing feedback to underwriters and management regarding the structure of their claim issues and related risk information with the goal to improve the overall standard of underwriting in the company.
• Conduct face-to-face negotiations with clients.
• Attend meetings with clients alongside Underwriters.
• Ensure all claims allocated are controlled within company philosophies and SLAs.
• Provide departmental reports where required.
• Be present at market meetings and conference calls when necessary.
• Ensure all complaint-related issues and incidents are logged and concluded in accordance with company policy.
• Assist internal stakeholders, undertaking any other ad hoc activities/project work required.
• Demonstrate that Lloyd's minimum standards are always met and be in a position to assist underwriters and claims adjusters to progress.
• Practice Tokio Marine HCC values, ensuring customers are always treated fairly.

Skills and Experience Specification:

• Ideally at least 5 to 10 years experience of Energy Claims experience.
• An excellent knowledge of ECF and the Lloyd's Claims Schemes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required as the duties of this role involve liaising with outsourcing partners, negotiation and liaising with brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers.
• Proven face-to-face negotiation skills directly with clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Excellent organization, numeracy and time management skills.
• IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• ACII qualification or working towards.
