Operations is made up of 7 functions, this role sits within: Procurement and Workplace Management. From identifying the scope of the goods and services required to deliver business outcomes, to negotiating pricing and managing the full lifecycle of contracts and suppliers. Procurement focuses on delivering Value For Money for the organisation. We leverage market intelligence and navigate the regulatory landscape to achieve commercial outcomes and reduce risk and complexity.
As Head of Sourcing, you'll lead a growing team, influence enterprise-wide sourcing strategy, work with senior executives and play a key role in transforming how TMHCC procures technology and business services.
You will own the end-to-end sourcing strategy across all indirect categories, drive measurable commercial value, and manage a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of category managers and procurement specialists. Evaluating operating model evolution to support a growing remit.
- Define and execute the sourcing strategy across all categories, including IT, SaaS, AI, Professional Services, Facilities, Marketing, HR and Travel.
- Lead sourcing strategies for emerging technologies, including AI consumption based technology services.
- Drive commercial value through competitive sourcing, supplier negotiation, and robust contract lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, incorporating performance governance and proactive risk management.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align sourcing activity with business priorities and organisational strategy.
- Embed best-practice procurement processes, tools, and policies across the function.
- Deliver measurable commercial value through cost optimisation, supplier innovation, risk reduction and improved business outcomes.
Skills and Experience Specification:
- Broad category expertise across indirect spend; deep knowledge of IT and Professional Services are particularly valued.
- Proven experience developing and implementing category and sub-category strategies.
- Proven track record of meeting cost reduction and supplier consolidation targets.
- Track record of leading portfolio opportunity analysis and delivering measurable benefit.
- Strong commercial and legal literacy, including IT, software, and Professional Services contracts.
- Experienced negotiator across a range of contract values and complexity, including extracting value from incumbent suppliers.
- Ability to lead market analysis and competitive tendering processes.
- Highly credible communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable leading and contributing to cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
- Financial Services experience and knowledge of the associated regulatory compliance, including DORA, Operational Resilience, and European regulatory engagement.
- Master’s degree.
- Professional certification e.g., CIPS.
