Job Purpose:
Our experienced claims professionals use their specialised expertise to handle even the most complex claims seamlessly. You will handle a caseload of Household and Commercial claims on behalf of Tokio Marine HCC as part of the internal claims department. You will become part of a growing team, taking claim notifications and settling claims, whilst excelling in customer service. Our focus is on excellence and creating a culture of continuous improvement. As a Claims Technician, you will play a critical role in the claims team by managing and resolving claims for our customers. You will work closely with your colleagues to bring claims to resolution, whilst interacting with brokers, clients and experts, whilst taking ownership of critical issues relating to the overall claims experience. This exciting role, within the newly formed team, will require you to correspond in written form, in addition to handling phone calls when required. You will have an increasing handling authority, as progression within the role occurs. As part of this opportunity, full training will be available, although the candidate will be expected to develop their own skills and improve service and quality standards, whilst being accompanied by an experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling of insurance claims, primarily Property Claims (Household/Commercial)
- Ability to manage a caseload of claims from a desktop level, showing effective organisation
- Caseload/Customer management of claims from start to finish
- Make effective and prompt decisions in respect of policy cover
- Able to communicate decisions clearly over the phone and in written form
- Maintain accurate file reserves.
- Ensures customers are treated fairly and in accordance with FCA Guidelines.
- Provide claims support and expertise for underwriting queries, interpreting and applying policy coverage
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Ideally experience of working within a claims team.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet specific deadlines and manage workloads
- A committed and flexible approach, whilst taking accountability for own actions
- Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough data capture
- Providing support, technical knowledge and acting as a referral point.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing and handling referrals from Delegated Authorities.
- Experience of working with domestic and commercial Insurance claims, involving decision making.
- Previous phone and written based customer service experience.
- Insurance Qualifications (Cert CII / Cert CILA)
