Job Purpose

To support the Finance function in reducing aged unallocated remittances identified through Internal Audit review. The role will focus on investigating, reconciling and allocating high-volume, multi-currency cash receipts, including direct engagement with policyholders, brokers, insurance counterparties and other departments to obtain missing remittance information and supporting documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and investigate aged unallocated cash balances (60/90+ days)
  • Analyse remittance advice and broker statements to determine correct allocation
  • Proactively contact brokers and insurance companies to obtain outstanding remittance advices and clarification of payment details
  • Follow up on unidentified or partially allocated receipts to ensure timely resolution
  • Post and allocate underwriting and claims cash within core systems (e.g. XLPRO / SBS / Genius)
  • Liaise internally with Credit Control, Underwriting, Claims and Treasury to resolve allocation queries
  • Escalate complex or technical items appropriately
  • Maintain a clear audit trail and documentation for all allocations and broker communications
  • Produce regular ageing analysis and progress reporting on backlog reduction
  • Support month-end close activities where required

Essential Skills and Experience Specification:

  • Experience communicating directly with brokers or insurance counterparties to resolve payment queries

Desirable

  • Previous experience in London Market insurance finance environment
  • Experience working in underwriting and claims cash processes
  • Experience clearing legacy or aged debt backlog
  • Understanding of broker bordereaux and remittance structures
  • Experience supporting audit remediation or control improvement initiatives
