Work location: On the road

Salary: $37.00 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment full time

Overtime required; early morning, morning, day, evening, night, weekend. Overtime available.

Work setting: Various locations

Responsibilities:

  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Credentials:

  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and specialization:

  • Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer

  • Criminal record check
  • Driver's validity licence check
  • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Drug test
