The Aston Villa Foundation is the official Charity of Aston Villa Football Club and prides itself in being innovative in its approach to the club being used as a ‘Force for Good’. The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division is newly formed, complementing the organisations 2024 – 2028 strategic plan. The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division brings together several departments, all of which contribute to providing a landscape of opportunities for children and young people in a variety of education, development and learning settings. The Youth Engagement department is a fundamental strand within the Foundation and is critical in supporting young people to raise their aspirations and divert them away from negative influences, within Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

As a Young Women and Girls Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of a range of targeted intervention programmes designed to support, engage, and empower young women and girls. You will have the ability to create and deliver both sporting and non-sporting activities that build confidence, resilience, positive mindsets, and help participants realise their full potential. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and delivering educational workshops that address key issues affecting young women and girls, while also providing ongoing mentoring and tailored support for vulnerable and ‘at‑risk’ participants within both group and 1:1 settings.

The Aston Villa Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Young Women and Girls Engagement Officer, with excellent communication and active listening skills, alongside a strong ability to demonstrate empathy, build trust, and inspire and motivate others. You will need to demonstrate experience in designing, leading, and delivering sport and educational interventions for young women and girls, and hold a relevant qualification such as an NGB Level 2 in Sport. Given the nature of the role, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including young women and girls, families, schools, and community partners.

Aston Villa Football Club celebrates the diversity of its Club and embraces equal opportunities for all. We welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, sex and religion or belief.

Aston Villa Football Club is fully committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk across our Club. As such, we adhere to Safer Recruitment processes and for some roles a satisfactory enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure & Barring Service may be required prior to starting in a role at the Club.
