Social Worker/Senior Social Worker – Assessment Team

Grade 7/8: £37,280 – £47,181 per annum
Plus an Essential Car User Allowance: £1,239 per annum and 2% Recruitment and Retention Allowance paid monthly

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with children, young people, their families and networks.
  • Work directly with them to undertake assessments of Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection to understand their situations and provide support.
  • Carry out assessments in line with relevant policies and procedures of Together for Children and the Sunderland Safeguarding Board.
  • Support children and young people to make long‑lasting changes in partnership with their networks.
  • Collaborate with team managers and assistant team managers, providing reflective supervision and adhering to the Signs of Safety model.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of one year’s post‑qualifying experience as a social worker.
  • Completion of the ASYE (Approved School Year Experience) is desirable, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
