Overview

Location: Remote UK

Salary range: up to £35k FTE

Contract: 6-month fixed-term maternity cover, with the potential to extend to 9 months upon review.

Start date: December 2025 or January 2026.

FTE: 1.0 (full-time). We\'re open to considering part-time 0.8 FTE, provided the working schedule aligns with key business requirements and deadlines.

The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join us for a 6-9-month MAT cover position, starting in December 2025 or January 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, tech-savvy and well-organised Assistant Management Accountant to join our friendly and talented team and support in the effective daily running of the finance department. We are looking for a highly organised and capable individual who can prioritise well, is eager to learn and has great attention to detail. This role will be a key business contact and should feel comfortable interacting and supporting members of the business, from the most junior to the most senior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing supplier AP approvals, staff expenses and payment runs
  • Responsible for coordinating corporate credit card systems and subscription payment tool including month end reconciliations
  • Preparation of regional payroll inputs for approval and liaison with external payroll support
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations including documentation and liaison with bank relationship managers
  • Preparing monthly journals such as accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany across all entities & ownership of key balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly UK VAT returns
  • Supporting the Finance team on budget & Year End deliverables

About you

  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Self-starter and keen to take ownership over responsibilities and work
  • Ability to articulate ideas to all areas of the business
  • Keen attention to detail

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified by experience, AAT or equivalent is helpful but not mandatory
  • Experience with customer and/or supplier relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience with automated workflows and must have experience, an appreciation and desire to work with software solutions
  • Experience with foreign entities and multi-currency organisations
  • Experience in SaaS and/or start-ups has a strong advantage
