Charles Street Finance ("CSF") is a specialist secured lender based in Cheadle, South Manchester. Established in 1983, we’re a small team but have doubled the size of the loan book over 2 years such that we are seeking to grow and enhance the existing personnel in key areas to further facilitate our ambitions. Job Description:

As our Lending Manager, you will look after our Sub Charge Lending business, focused on managing the Sub-Charge product and portfolio. With oversight and management of our Sub-Charge Lenders, you will support the business to make good lending decisions for Sub-Charge, whilst providing outstanding customer service. Covering Bridging finance, Buy-to-let, commercial mortgages, Development Loans.

As our Lending Manager, we are looking for someone to:

  • Manage the Charles Street Sub-Charge business: including the review and onboarding of new Lenders
  • Ensure the successful management of the Sub-Charge Lending portfolio – evaluating, approving and escalating loan applications on a case-by-case basis.
  • Co-ordinating audits, supporting processes and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Overseeing the legal and on-boarding process from inception through to completion
  • Portfolio and relationship manage all Sub-Charge Lenders; attending regular meetings and evaluating their credit worthiness
  • Underwriting Sub-Charge mortgages with recommendations provided to mandate holders
  • Manage the application and performance of aggregate credit limits (ACLs) across the Sub-Charge lenders
  • Managing Sub Charge lenders MI & reporting requirements, ensuring MI received, reviewed and reported upon in a timely manner and, where necessary escalated with recommendation provided to Senior Management

Qualifications:

  • Lending/underwriting experience across residential and commercial assets
  • Ability to assess portfolio risk for both existing and potential exposures
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles across the credit lifecycle
  • Ability to pro-actively maintain and analyse accurate portfolio MI
  • Leadership experience of managing/working as part of a high performing corporate lending team
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience of working in the specialist lending / bridging industry
