Job Description

As Head of Corporate Relationships, you will lead and manage a team of Portfolio Directors & Relationship Managers, responsible for the ongoing management and growth of the Corporate portfolio.

You will provide credit risk focused relationship management with a commercial edge, supporting the safe growth of customers within their Aggregate Credit Limit, as well as identifying when off track and providing structured support through turnaround strategies or consensual workout strategies. All whilst ensuring we deliver best in class portfolio relationship management.

As Head of Corporate Relationships, we are looking for someone to:

  • Manage the Corporate Portfolio Team to ensure the successful management of the portfolio – well managed growth whilst managing the risk profile, including early identification of customers potentially facing stressed & / or distressed situations, implementing turnaround strategies and techniques to minimize credit risk
  • Be a brand ambassador for the company, in all interactions with corporate customers and external advisors. Fundamental in enhancing the reputation of the business and driving how we interact and support our key corporate customers, to ensure that we are maximising mutually beneficial relationships
  • Challenge and manage team members on case strategy and act as mandated authority for customer management strategy decisions; ensuring the team are supported to maximise the growth of their respective portfolios
  • Manage the application and performance of aggregate credit limits (ACLs) across portfolio accounts
  • Introduce and manage the annual lending review of all corporate customers
  • Work with the first line Credit & Portfolio Risk team, and the Second Line Credit Risk team in the management and development of credit risk policies and standards, ensuring appropriate governance of changes and evidence of key controls
  • Regular reporting and analysis that informs all key stakeholders of the risks on the portfolios and performance against risk appetite
  • Work with the Corporate Recovery Team to support on appropriate strategies for key exposures

Qualifications

Essential

  • Leadership experience of managing/working as part of a high performing corporate lending team
  • Lending/underwriting experience across commercial and/or residential assets
  • Relationship management experience
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles across the credit lifecycle, credit analytics and policies
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders to improve the customer journey
  • Strong ability to lead and influence key stakeholders
