This is a very exciting time of change for Together as we go through a tech transformation. As such, we are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to work within our highly skilled Data & BI Team with responsibility for ensuring that data-related changes across the organisation are designed, implemented, and governed effectively. This role provides technical stewardship over core applications, databases and metadata, ensuring that data is well-defined, structured, and aligned with governance standards. You will essentially act as a key enabler for data quality, literacy, and accountability across business and technology teams.

You will be working closely with the Team delivering our new E2E Tech system as well as key stakeholder/data owners across the business. As such this role offers the opportunity to get involved with projects and support the business as the entire business moves to new systems and ways of working.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Data Bricks and more specifically, Unity Catalogue, is wonderful but not essential providing you have used other similar systems.
  • Essential to act as an effective conduit between the business and the technical teams with clear and capable stakeholder management skills and ability to translate requirements to Data Engineers.
  • Strong experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data architecture roles.
  • Proficient in relational database design, SQL, metadata management and data modelling.
  • Skilled in conducting Data Impact Assessments and supporting change initiatives.
  • Familiar with data modelling techniques and tools (e.g., SAP Power Designer).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g. Unity Catalogue).
  • Ability to translate technical data concepts into business-relevant language.
  • Significant knowledge of the Data Management Association (DAMA) framework, particularly the development and application of Data Governance and Data Quality.
  • Knowledge of Data Profiling, Data Definitions/Data Catalogue Management, DQ Issue Management, root cause analysis and reference data management.
  • Excellent SQL & Data Literacy skills, able to work with less data literate customers to achieve required outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels, with strong written and oral communication skills.

If you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please do still apply and we would be happy to have a further discussion with you in regards to your suitability for the role.
