This role is an opportunity to provide assessments and one‑to‑one psychologically informed intervention within our Approved Premises (AP) Mental Health Service. The position is based at Westbourne House Approved Premises in Stratford, with travel required to additional sites in Camden and Tulse Hill. Work will involve delivering psychologically informed assessments and tailored interventions that support individuals to build on their strengths and manage their mental health, using evidence‑based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and psychoeducation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with AP staff, probation practitioners and wider partner agencies to deliver holistic, coordinated support for residents.
- Facilitate case consultations and offer guidance to enhance colleagues’ confidence and skills in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- Lead on the development and delivery of workshops for AP staff covering mental health awareness, trauma‑informed practice and engagement with health care partners.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Assess mental health and social care needs and develop holistic support plans.
- Empower individuals to lead on their support plan.
- Deliver low‑intensity, psychologically informed interventions (e.g. psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, CBT‑informed approaches and compassion‑focused therapy).
- Contribute to the prevention and management of harmful and violent behaviour.
- Support individuals to build self‑esteem and increase motivation.
- Dynamically assess and manage risk, sharing relevant information with partner agencies.
- Have at least 2 years experience working within mental health and/or criminal justice services, and delivering 1:1 interventions.
