The predicted salary is between 37814 - 37814 £ per year.
The position is based in South London with flexibility to travel across London as required. You will be part of a dedicated and dynamic team focused on delivering tailored support to individuals managed under the IOM scheme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing mental health and social care needs and providing a bespoke holistic support package, empowering people to lead on their support plan.
- Delivering low‑intensity psycho‑education interventions using techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Compassion Focused Therapy.
- Contributing to prevention and management of harmful and violent behaviour, building self‑esteem and motivation.
- Dynamically assessing and managing risk, and sharing relevant information with agencies.
- Completing reports for courts, formal hearings, and meetings; reporting outcomes directly to referrers or via multidisciplinary group meetings.
- Recording, keeping evidence of work done, and entering data promptly into relevant management systems.
- Maintaining regular communication and updates with the wider team via phone, text, and email.
- Developing and sustaining effective working relationships with staff in other agencies.
- Advising statutory agencies about service users’ needs and identifying service gaps.
- Researching, preparing, and supplying information to monitor service effectiveness and produce statistical data as required.
- Facilitating learning in groups through presentations and activities within Together and external agencies.
Contract and experience requirements:
This is a full‑time (37.5 hrs per week) contract. The successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience working within mental health and/or criminal justice services and delivering 1:1 interventions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Mental Health practitioner.
- Qualification in Mental Health (e.g., mental health nurse, clinical/forensic psychology, psychotherapy) or relevant degree; or equivalent experience such as forensic psychologist trainee.
- Experience delivering low‑intensity psycho‑education interventions.
- Sound knowledge of assessment of vulnerable adults with mental health and social care needs.
- Experience working with a high‑risk client group presenting violent or challenging behaviour, including safeguarding.
- Good understanding of agencies in criminal justice, secure estate, social care, housing, health, and voluntary sectors, and the referral processes.
- Commitment to valuing diversity and practicing equal opportunities and anti‑discriminatory practices.
Desirable:
- Registration with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC).
- Experience designing and delivering training.
