The Role
The Post‑Production Manager is a new role responsible for the management and operations of our content for broadcast and streaming platforms. The position involves preparation, QC and delivery of TV series and films for TV and streaming, and works on the production, editing and delivery of promos, voice‑overs, menu clips, on‑air graphics and occasional campaign content that engages viewers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage media assets and delivery of programmes to air, including QC of programmes for broadcast.
- Perform compliance editing to meet Ofcom editorial standards.
- Schedule break timings for commercial insertion (soft and hard parting of assets).
- Transcode files for playout and internal viewing copies.
- Ingest programme timecode data and mix sound levels to achieve loudness‑compliant dynamic range for broadcast.
- Conduct basic colour correction, picture legalisation, and control subtitle creation software, embedding closed‑caption data into playout files.
- Perform video conforming and standards conversion for UK broadcast.
- Handle craft editing of productions, mainly offline edit and some online.
- Manage the post‑acquisition workflow to ensure programmes reach playout on time and metadata reaches the scheduling team within agreed timescales.
- Liaise with the Content & Scheduling department on programme details, durations and editorial compliance.
- Maintain Together TV’s post‑production systems with housekeeping of storage and an organised workflow.
- Collaborate with the playout provider on ingest, playout and engineering changes.
- Occasionally record and edit audio, particularly voice‑over sessions.
- Produce screen grabs and menu clips.
- Create, write, edit and produce promos, clips and campaigns that attract viewers and enhance the channel experience.
- Liaise with Content and Marketing to ensure tone of voice and brand ethos.
- Create cross‑platform campaigns for on‑air, online and social media.
- Perform offline/online edit for other series, originations and co‑productions as needed.
- Maintain oversight of the promotions pipeline to meet deadlines.
Person Specification
- Proven video editing and programme delivery skills gained in a broadcast environment.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of TV post‑production processes and technology.
- Experience of file encoding and transcoding, preferably with Adobe Media Encoder.
- Strong visual storytelling ability with experience of promo production and editing.
- Deep familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud post‑production tools (Premiere Pro, AME, Audition, After Effects, Photoshop).
- Experience of technical compliance to DPP guidelines.
- Knowledge of streaming workflows is beneficial.
- Familiarity with online editing processes for broadcast.
- Knowledge of emerging AI technologies for video and audio.
- Solid understanding of conveying channel branding, ethos and tone of voice through graphics and visual content.
- Knowledge of editorial compliance, Broadcast Code, commercial/music rights.
- Experience in casting and directing voice‑over sessions.
- Experience of programme consolidation and archiving.
- Strong planning skills, able to prioritise tasks and work under deadlines.
- Strong, flexible work ethic, proactive initiative, good communicator.
