Occupational Therapist – Inscape House School, Cheadle

We now have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy Team at Inscape House School in Cheadle, Cheshire — our specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and related social communication and sensory differences.

The Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll assess needs and deliver therapy both directly and indirectly. You\’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, students, families, and staff to ensure every young person can thrive.

Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Stockport

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Term time (41 weeks per year)

Reporting to: Occupational Therapy Team Lead

Deadline: Applications reviewed on a rolling basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise your own caseload, organising daily tasks effectively.
  • Formulate and monitor evidence-based therapy programmes tailored to students\’ EHCPs.
  • Deliver strategies in both verbal and written formats to support students holistically.
  • Engage students in planning their own interventions to encourage independence and self-advocacy.
  • Liaise with families, carers, and school staff to provide guidance and support.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary and case review meetings.
  • Support generalisation of skills across settings, including through home visits when required.
  • Assist Occupational Therapy leads in developing team performance and training.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the HCPC and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Experience working with young people with complex needs, learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • Familiar with a range of occupational therapy assessments and approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and how to support children with communication challenges.
