Responsibilities include travelling throughout the Manchester local authority area to visit a variety of settings that meet the young person's needs. Providing a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people. Assisting with assessments of need and formulation of plans, including working in partnership with other agencies. Maximising educational opportunities and achievements for the young people looked after within the unit by identifying, establishing and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews. Undertaking individual work that is designed to meet the young person's needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach their full potential. Under close supervision, taking responsibility for a key case load of families.

Qualifications:

  • Strong values and an enthusiastic approach as a Positive Behaviour Support worker, supporting young people and their families.
  • Ability to support young people with a diagnosis of autism within the community, achieving positive outcomes.
  • Skills to support families with Positive Behaviour Support strategies within their family environment.
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining and encouraging open and honest lines of communication.
  • Capacity to undertake the full range of tasks in a well-planned way that respects and values children and their families.
  • Evidence of the right to work in the UK without additional approval for more than 20 hours each week throughout the year and an eligible residency status for the purposes of the apprenticeship funding rules.
