Specialist Occupational Therapist in Stockport

We are now looking for a passionate and skilled Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy Team at Inscape House School. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly specialist, multi‑disciplinary environment supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions aged 5–19.

Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Cheshire

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 41 weeks per year

Contract: Permanent | Term Time

Salary: £39,667 per annum with biennial increments (£43,150 FTE)

About the Role

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will manage your own clinical caseload and deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based and person‑centred occupational therapy interventions tailored to the individual needs of pupils and students. Working collaboratively with families, education staff and other professionals, you will help remove barriers to learning, promote independence and improve outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions.
• Support EHCP outcomes and Individual Education Programmes.
• Advise on specialist equipment and sensory‑informed approaches.
• Work as part of a collaborative multi‑disciplinary team.
• Support and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Deliver training, advice and consultancy to staff and families.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

• Hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Are HCPC registered with a current practising certificate.
• Have experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition.
• Have experience within special school, paediatric or multi‑disciplinary settings.
• Have knowledge of sensory‑informed approaches and paediatric OT practice.
• Can independently manage and prioritise a clinical caseload.
• Can support and supervise other team members.
• Have excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Are committed to person‑centred, inclusive and collaborative practice.
• Are proactive, flexible and committed to continuous professional development.

Desirable

• Knowledge or experience of Sensory Integration approaches.
• Experience contributing to service development.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
