Alongside an incredible team of like-minded peers, you will be working behind-the-scenes to support our staff, volunteers, families, and supporters. You will be helping our work happen across the charity; enabling us to care for and champion the rights, needs and ambitions of the people we support.

We now have two fantastic opportunities for Speech and Language Therapy Assistants to work in collaboration with others to deliver a high-quality speech and language therapy service to the pupils of Inscape House School, all of whom have autism spectrum condition as their primary need.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 41 weeks term time

Salary: £26,520.62 per annum (pro-rated to hours and weeks worked) £29,108.00 full time equivalent.

Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Stockport

Reports to: Speech and Language Therapist.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering and supporting the embedding of speech and language therapy recommendations at universal and targeted levels as directed by a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Providing advice and consultation to pupils, school staff, and families/carers at universal and targeted levels.
  • Supporting education staff to deliver therapy input at universal and targeted levels, within the remit of their own roles.
  • Contributing to general projects, events or extra-curricular activities across the wider school as directed, for the purpose of further embedding and raising staff awareness of best practice regarding speech, language and communication needs.
  • Procurement of resources as required for own sessions and for the team, with agreement from and abiding by systems designated by the team lead.
  • Working with the Speech and Language Therapy lead to ensure the service’s accountability to the school and other key stakeholders.

What you can bring to the team:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health or related discipline (or equivalent experience) e.g. QCF level 3 in Clinical Healthcare Support.
  • Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Knowledge of embedding therapy into learning activities.
  • Experience of supporting Speech & Language therapy programmes of intervention (as SaLT assistant or other relevant role such as Support worker/LSA/TA).
  • Experience of working in specialist education & Autism spectrum conditions.
  • Internet access skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications - word, PowerPoint, excel.
