Bolton provides residential care for children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs. We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and highly experienced children's residential support worker.

Location: Lostock, Bolton

Hours: 37.5 hours - Full Time

Salary: £30,912

Enhancements: Sleep-in allowance of £107.60 per shift and time and a quarter paid for weekend hours worked.

You will be working in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing and supporting the young people, providing them with all the care, love, and support that they would receive as if it was their family home.

Responsibilities include but are not exhaustive:

  • Provide a caring, safe, secure, and accepting environment that meets the basic physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people.
  • Support less experienced staff via positive and effective team working to achieve high-quality standards of care.
  • Participate to establish an enabling culture that actively promotes the young people’s life chances.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of systems and policies ensuring compliance with legislative regulations.
  • Supervise and/or undertake key working responsibilities, including primary responsibility for more complex cases.
  • Develop, demonstrate, promote, and maintain a good level of awareness of safeguarding issues.
  • Make assessments of need and coordinate the formulation of plans to enable these needs to be met.
  • Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for young people looked after within the home.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive networks with communities and other agencies.
  • Contribute to the assessment and appraisal of team members to enhance performance.
  • Promote a positive image of the Trust through professional presentation at meetings.
  • Take responsibility for the promotion of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young persons.

About You:

  • QCF Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Significant childcare experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • A current clean driving licence.
