Role Overview
As the Assistant Manager – Housekeeping & Operations, you’ll take a fully hands-on, operational role supporting the General Manager. This is a physically demanding role, requiring someone who can actively participate in housekeeping, site inspections, and day-to-day operations.
You will:
- Maintain exceptional standards across all lodges and apartments
- Support housekeeping, site operations, and guest services
- Lead a small team and act as a mentor and coach
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all properties are in pristine condition – guests’ first impressions matter
- Take full responsibility for housekeeping tasks, including thorough cleans and inspections
- Deputise for the GM when required
- Plan and manage housekeeping schedules and rotas
- Oversee linen, stock, and cleaning supplies, maintaining hygiene and reorder levels
- Conduct Health & Safety checks and escalate issues promptly
- Support guest arrivals, departures, and on-site queries
- Coordinate with maintenance and concierge teams for smooth operations
- Lead by example – hands-on support during busy periods
- Provide mentoring and coaching to housekeeping staff
- Drive continuous improvement of guest experience and operational efficiency
Requirements (Essential)
- Proven experience in housekeeping operations (Team Leader, Supervisor, Head Housekeeper)
- Strong understanding of cleaning standards, inspections, stock control, and rota management
- Hands-on, proactive, and dedicated, comfortable working alongside the team
- Friendly, confident, and guest-facing skills
- Ability to mentor, coach, and provide feedback
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to relocate to Wick (KW1 4YR)
- Experience in holiday lets, serviced accommodation, or hotels
- Supervisory or assistant management experience in a small team environment
