Job Description:
As our Corporate Lending Director, you will work as part of our Charles Street division, which operates with great success supporting professional property developers, investors and SMEs to access bespoke funds for a wide variety of property-based lending including Bridging finance, Buy-to-let, commercial mortgages, Development Loans and sub-charge loans. This role will principally be focused on managing the sub-charge product and business.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the Charles Street sub-charge business: including the review and onboarding of new customers and relationship management of existing customers
- Ensuring the successful management of the sub-charge portfolio – evaluating and approving loan applications on a case-by-case basis
- Co-ordinating audits, supporting processes and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Supporting the legal and onboarding process from inception through to completion
- Portfolio managing all sub-charge clients attending regular meetings with their principles and evaluating their credit worthiness
- Having oversight of the underwriting process for both sub-charge and direct corporate lending; supporting the assessment and underwriting of larger, complex loan applications
- Providing guidance to the team to support sound lending decisions
- Managing the application and performance of aggregate credit limits (ACLs) across portfolio accounts
- Keeping and producing accurate data and MI to ensure all clients are appropriately managed and monthly reporting can be provided to the MD
- Supporting the Managing Director with the growth and risk management of the sub-charge business
- Working closely with the whole team consisting of underwriting and portfolio divisions to ensure clients receive best in class service levels
Qualifications:
- Essential Lending/underwriting experience across residential and commercial assets
- Experience of working in the specialist lending / bridging industry
- Strong understanding of credit risk management principles across the credit lifecycle
- Relationship management experience
- Leadership experience of managing/working as part of a high performing corporate lending team
- Ability to influence at all levels
