You can expect to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business – including Complaints, Risk, Compliance, Recoveries, Operations and senior stakeholders to ensure legal risks are properly understood; managed and aligned with the Group’s overarching strategic and commercial objectives.

Over time, there is opportunity for the role to broaden into wider areas of contentious and non-contentious legal support, with opportunities to contribute to broader legal initiatives and cross‑business projects.

Typical Duties

  • Managing a high-volume litigation and claims workload in a structured, efficient and proportionate manner.
  • Producing and presenting MI, trend analysis and data‑driven insights to support strategy and reporting.

  • Working closely with the General Counsel, Head of Litigation, senior stakeholders and other members of the Legal team on strategic approach to legal issues.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing volume litigation particularly where claims originate from or are driven by claims management companies (CMCs).
  • Proven ability to handle large caseloads efficiently through pragmatic, structured decision‑making.
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues, including providing clear expectations, promoting strong time‑management practices ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard, as well as conducting day‑to‑day supervision ensuring consistency.

  • Excellent drafting and communication skills with the ability to distil complex issues into straightforward, practical advice.
  • Experience of proactively developing workflows to streamline operations and reduce risk.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to set and work to deadlines.
  • Highly organised, efficient and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience dealing with CMC driven or template‑based claims is essential.
