Job Description
As a Compliance Monitoring Manager you will be responsible for the design and delivery of assurance test programmes to evaluate exposure to regulatory compliance and conduct risk. This role provides independent second line of defence (2LOD) assurance under the leadership of the Head of Monitoring, delegated by the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Responsible for design and delivery of assigned Regulatory and Conduct Monitoring assurance reviews, particularly those considered complex within strict timelines and consistent with the Compliance Monitoring methodology.
- Ensure Regulatory and Conduct Monitoring and independently assess how the firm consistently delivers fair customer outcomes and meets regulatory requirements, encouraging safe growth and protection from regulatory and/or conduct risks.
- Produce high quality reports that clearly articulate conclusions of the assurance activity, including an accurate measurement of the level of regulatory and conduct risk.
- Provide appropriate recommendations to the business based on observations and findings.
- Assist the Group Head of Compliance in delivery of delegated responsibilities from SMF16, acting as deputy during Head of Compliance absence.
- Provide input to design of Compliance Monitoring Annual Plan, analyzing risks to identify areas requiring assurance.
- Role model strong behaviours and customer‑centric qualities, setting a standard of high performance.
- Contribute to a strong team ethic, optimizing team’s abilities and capabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of open findings and actions, managing tracking process.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the business.
- Complete effective assessments of evidence submitted by business areas to close findings and recommend actions.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a Compliance Monitoring Manager or equivalent role.
- Experience working within Financial Services and a regulated environment.
- Project management skills: identify milestones, deliverables, and drive delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and supervisory approach.
- Understanding of regulatory and conduct risk, ability to assess and size risks in line with Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Excellent communication, relationship building, influencing at a strategic level, and ability to communicate to diverse audiences.
- In‑depth understanding of FCA regulatory framework operating within the UK.
- Horizon scanning mindset, lateral thinking, anticipating consequences for the company.
- Ability to interpret situations, foresee opportunities or risks, and act and escalate appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication, articulate, professional, influencing, negotiating, and generating commitment.
