We’re Together. For over 50 years, we’ve helped thousands of people, businesses and professionals unlock their property ambitions with our common-sense approach to mortgages and secured loans. We take the time to understand our customers and our door is always open, so we can often help when other lenders can’t or won’t. Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, our 750 colleagues help our customers throughout the UK, backed by the power of a £7 billion loan book.

As a Senior Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for the second line management of credit risk for the business. You will develop credit risk policies and related standards. You will provide oversight and assurance to the Executive and Board that credit risk is being managed within risk appetite. Working with the Head of Credit Risk, you will develop credit strategies based on credit scores and cost of risk, integrating new data sources as they are developed.

As a Senior Credit Risk Manager we are looking for someone to:

  • Work closely with the Credit Risk Manager and the first line team to compare Together's lending approach to our peers to identify areas where pockets of credit risk could be developing, highlighting these through governance and recommending appropriate controls.
  • Produce Credit Risk profiles along with in-depth analysis on the credit performance of the loan book for the Exec and Board Risk committees.
  • Work with the first line to ensure all material credit risks have been identified and mitigating actions have been defined and progressed.
  • Set, via the board, credit risk appetites; identifying and managing portfolio level credit risks, key exposures and concentration risks.
  • Horizon scan for emerging credit risks and develop forecasting models.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Credit Risk (ECL and Scorecard Modelling) to align ECL provisions and credit risk management and develop the use of cost of risk across the business.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Senior Credit Risk Management experience within a secured lender.
  • Experience with analytical software, e.g. SQL, Python.
  • A solid grounding in data analysis using quantitative analytic tools and good research skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex issues/analysis to Senior Management and interact with other teams across the business.

If you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please do still apply and we would be happy to have a further discussion with you in regards to your suitability for the role.

Together embraces diversity and inclusion, and are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. Not only do we welcome difference – we celebrate it, support it and really value our colleagues for who they are. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills.

If you feel you’d benefit from any support or reasonable adjustments during any stage of the recruitment process, please don’t hesitate to let us know when completing your application. This information will be picked up by our team, so we can try and put steps in place to help you be at your best through this process.

Please note that all successful applicants will undergo relevant employment reference, financial and criminal record checks.
