We are currently seeking a Caretaker to join our team at Pendleton Together. In this role, you will provide comprehensive cleaning and recycling services across apartment blocks and communal areas, ensuring all internal spaces are maintained to agreed standards. Duties will include:
- Cleaning communal areas such as stairwells, corridors, lifts, and shared facilities.
- Managing internal waste and recycling areas.
- Supporting the upkeep of safe, clean, and welcoming buildings.
- Contributing to a safe and secure environment within our properties.
- Delivering a responsive, customer-focused caretaking service, assisting residents, contractors, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Please note this is a temporary contract lasting a maximum of 12 weeks (role may become permanent). Requirements
- To ensure communal areas are clean, tidy, safe, and well maintained in accordance with cleaning compliance KPIs.
- Testing of communal equipment e.g. fire alarms and lighting as directed.
- Recording work done using manual or digital recording systems and procedures.
- Reporting any task which cannot be completed.
- Supporting an enhanced recycling agenda including ordering and filling skips, emptying and rotating rubbish and recycling bins, unblocking chutes when instructed, and recording levels of waste.
- Working in a safe manner at all times, particularly when operating power tools and equipment, driving, and using chemicals or volatile substances such as petrol (refer to Health & Safety regulations, guidance, risk assessments, and safe systems of work).
- Acting as a point of contact for residents, responding to their queries, liaising with Together Housing colleagues where necessary, and providing an excellent standard of customer service.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Full Manual UK Driver's License.
- Practical experience in cleaning or caretaking.
- Working knowledge of cleaning and caretaking equipment e.g. buffing machine, vacuuming.
- Experience of dealing with minor household repairs e.g. fencing, gates, and minor decorating tasks.
- Numeracy and written skills sufficient to carry out the duties of the post.
- Experience of working in a customer service environment, with the ability to deal with members of the public firmly but sympathetically.
