We are looking for Facilities & Estates Operatives to help maintain and improve the outdoor environments across our estates in Lancashire. This role focuses on ensuring communal outdoor spaces are clean, safe and well presented for residents. You will carry out a variety of estate-based duties including environmental cleaning, waste removal, and graffiti removal to communal areas and pathways. The role involves working across multiple sites, using tools and equipment to maintain outdoor spaces and responding to day-to-day environmental issues on our estates.

Requirements:
- Work within different teams on all aspects of cleaning and waste management.
- Carry out routine cleaning of all external communal areas, ensuring these areas are left clean, safe and attractive for our customers; using a combination of hand tools, power tools and chemical agents when required.
- Assist in the removal of graffiti and fly tipped waste on the organisation's land when required.
- Undertake a range of minor repairs to communal properties, gardens and the wider estate including planned deep cleaning.
- Ensure that access footpaths are kept free from hazards and/or obstructions.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures at all times, ensuring the safe use of equipment, correct handling and disposal of materials, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and leaving all work areas clean and safe on completion of tasks.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A full manual UK driving license.
- Practical experience of working in a Cleaning & Caretaking service.
- Practical knowledge of and ability to operate Cleaning and Waste equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and specific site safety.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Benefits:
In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Facilities & Estates Operative role a starting salary of £25,878, 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays. Based at our Halifax depot, HX6 2QW, you will be working 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 7.30-3.30 and Friday 7.30-3:00 pm. Attractive pension schemes - including Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
