We are looking for a Neighbourhood Officer to manage a patch of properties across Blackburn. This is a field-based role, offering a balance of home and community-based working, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy management services, providing excellent customer support, and helping to build strong, sustainable communities.
You'll work closely with customers, local partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues, support tenancy sustainment, and enhance community resilience. The role covers properties across Blackburn so the ability to travel regularly throughout the area is essential.
Requirements
- Full UK drivers licence and access to a car as the role is field based
- Experience and knowledge of housing/lettings or ideally social housing
- Demonstrating proven experience in dealing with the public both in person and over the phone, skilled in managing sensitive situations where individuals may be distressed, anxious, or reluctant to accept advice
- Strong face-to-face customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive information. Proven experience with diverse customers and effective situation management.
- Self-motivated with a solution-focused approach
- Personal resilience to manage a fast-paced, demanding role, juggling multiple tasks efficiently
Benefits
- Starting salary of £33,758 per annum
