We are currently seeking a Gas Engineer to join our busy team. In this exciting role you will be responsible for carrying out all types of repairs on heating and hot water systems to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti‑time appointment slots, specifications, contract drawings, and applicable regulations. This includes adhering to good practice, building regulations, and safety standards to ensure high‑quality and compliant work. You will be covering the areas surrounding Sheffield, Doncaster, and Rotherham.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out all types of repairs on heating and hot water systems to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti‑time appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, to good practice, Building Regulations etc.
  • Work with an ethos of “Right First Time”, completing a repair where practicable in one visit, with good quality workmanship and good standard of performance.
  • Keep records as required, either paper or electronic.
  • Carry out measurement and quantification and procure materials requirements.
  • Provide good customer care, protecting tenants’ furniture and belongings, cleaning up after work, and liaising with customers in a caring manner.
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to commencement of work and ensure all reasonable steps are taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself, tenants, colleagues and members of the public.
  • Diagnose repairs rationally and problem‑solve without excessive use of materials or time.
  • Multiskill and undertake other trade functions, particularly related to prime Gas jobs.
Qualifications
  • A Full Manual UK Driving License.
  • ACS accreditations: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, CPA1, UDHW.
  • City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ Level 3).
  • Experience working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified Gas Technician, working in building repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience of installation, fault finding and servicing on domestic gas appliances and central heating systems.
  • Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit.
  • Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how it impacts the way building repairs are carried out.
  • Experience working directly with customers and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills essential for accurately and thoroughly completing job tickets, timesheets, gas certificates and other documentation.

  • Starting salary of ÂŁ35,229 – ÂŁ39,298 (based on experience and qualifications).
