We are currently seeking a Lettings Advisor (Part time 22.5 hours, temporary until February 2026). In this role you will play a vital part in providing expert advice to customers on a range of housing options, with a particular focus on supported housing for older and vulnerable individuals. You will be responsible for offering top-tier customer service, guiding clients through lettings inquiries, and ensuring their housing needs are met with care and professionalism.

Please note that this position is a maternity cover, set to conclude on the final day of February 2026.

Outline of key responsibilities for the Lettings Advisor (Part time 22.5 hours):

  • Be the first point of contact for customers requesting advice and assistance in relation to rehousing requirements or housing options.
  • Deal with enquiries regarding properties available, basic housing options, application registration, administration of waiting lists/choice-based lettings cycles, processing applications, preparation of property shortlists, and schedule appointments for viewings.
  • Engage with vulnerable customers at application/interview stage to identify and discuss any support needs and housing options, including supported housing.
  • Carry out telephone interviews with customers in connection with the lettings service.
  • Conduct affordability and other checks to ensure potential new tenants can sustain the tenancy and provide advice about social care and support services.
  • Liaise with other teams (e.g., Neighbourhoods, Supported Housing, and Repairs) to ensure efficient and effective lettings processes.
  • Ensure all properties on which we receive a notice are advertised on our systems without delay and that adverts are completed fully.
  • Verify information provided at interview, obtain required proof, and carry out reference checks to encourage sustainable tenancies.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience of customer service in either a face-to-face or telephone environment.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
  • Ability to handle enquiries across a wide range of functions with minimal referral.
  • Ability to manage confidential/personal information appropriately and sensitively.
  • Ability to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • An understanding of the role of Housing Associations.
