We are looking for an experienced Gas Technician to carry out repairs on heating and hot water systems for both tenanted and vacant properties across Leeds, Selby, York, and Hull. You will work within the standards of good practice, Building Regulations and safety requirements to deliver high‑quality, compliant service.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all types of repairs on heating and hot water systems to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings.
- Produce repairs with an ethos of "Right First Time", ensuring high quality workmanship in one visit where practicable.
- Maintain accurate records in paper or electronic format as required.
- Perform measurements, quantification, and procure material requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer care, protecting tenants' furniture and belongings, cleaning up after work, and liaising with customers politely and sympathetically.
- Carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to work and ensure health, safety and welfare of all parties.
- Diagnose repair issues efficiently to minimise materials and time usage.
- Multi‑skill across related trade functions relevant to pure Gas jobs.
Requirements
- A Full Manual UK Driving Licence.
- ACS accreditations: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, CPA1, UDHW.
- City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ Level 3).
- Experience in all disciplines expected of a qualified Gas Technician in building repairs and maintenance.
- Experience installing, fault‑finding and servicing domestic gas appliances and central heating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maximize jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application to building repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience of direct customer interaction.
