Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop The Future Laboratory’s global marketing strategy and annual marketing plans across all channels – including traditional media, PR, social, email and events – ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.
- Plan and lead marketing campaigns end-to-end, overseeing briefings, advertising and performance reporting.
- Own and manage the marketing budget, planning and allocating spend to maximise reach, efficiency and return on investment.
- Own and operate the paid media strategy across paid social and digital advertising (LinkedIn & Google), setting and managing budgets, setting up, running and optimising campaigns, briefing paid media partners, and reporting on performance and ROI.
- Lead and manage the marketing team and third-party providers such as the inbound marketing agency, SEO/AEO/GEO, web partners, and the PR consultant – setting clear briefs and holding partners to account.
- Develop and own the events (external and internal) and brand partnerships strategy, and plan and negotiate partnerships to create high-impact joint marketing campaigns.
- Partner with senior leadership to define and evolve The Future Laboratory’s brand strategy, mission, values and proposition.
- Lead the global content and brand marketing strategy, ensuring creativity, consistency and impact across all platforms and regions.
- Work cross-functionally with the Strategic Foresight, Studio, and Client Development teams to deliver integrated marketing and communications outputs.
- Oversee PR and external brand and event partnership strategies in collaboration with the PR consultant and external partners.
- Optimise marketing and messaging across The Future Laboratory and Intelligence Platform websites and inbound/SEO/AEO/GEO activity, to support lead generation and brand positioning, briefing the inbound marketing agency and web partners.
- Report on brand, content and campaign performance, synthesising marketing data into actionable insights and recommendations for the wider business.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5+ years’ experience in a marketing role, including experience at a senior or management level, preferably within a B2B business or agency environment.
- A successful track record in planning and developing annual marketing strategies and plans, making use of a range of marketing channels including traditional media, digital advertising (LinkedIn & Google), PR, social, email and events.
- Experience managing teams, agencies and budgets across brand and growth marketing.
- Experience planning and negotiating partnerships to create joint marketing campaigns.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesise significant amounts of marketing data, distil and identify actionable insights, and make recommendations to refine marketing activities.
- Experienced with HubSpot, Google Analytics, Mixpanel and Cision PR, amongst other marketing tools.
- Strong communication, writing and presenting skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- A demonstrable interest in the creation and application of trends, consumer futures, foresight and research.
- A team player who can work across departments.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- A natural and resourceful problem solver, able to create simple, robust thinking that is easy to understand and implement.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines.
