Are you passionate about mental health, recovery, and empowering people to live independently? Join Together for Mental Wellbeing as an Intensive Recovery Worker and support individuals with complex mental health needs to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. This is a community-based mental health support role within the Norfolk Integrated Housing & Community Support Service (NIHCSS) – a partnership between Together for Mental Wellbeing and St Martins Housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide recovery-focused support to adults (18+) with complex mental health needs
  • Empower service users to gain independence and move into more independent living
  • Build positive, meaningful relationships based on trust, respect and inclusion
  • Support individuals to attend appointments and engage in their community
  • Work as part of a supportive, values-driven team
  • Line manage one or more CSWs and/or volunteer staff
  • Support the management team in the delivery of the service or contract
  • Contribute to team resilience by ensuring appropriate boundaries, escalating issues when necessary
  • Establish and maintain relationships of trust with service users, including helping them to set, prioritise and achieve goals
  • Work flexibly with service users in both their homes and in the community
  • Value the lived experience of service users and enable them to use that experience to support each other and improve their experience
  • Carry out assessments and determine urgency of service user needs
  • Work with professionals from other agencies and make onward referrals
  • Take a lead on attending external meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Carry out risk assessments and determine urgency of service user needs
  • Assist service users to navigate the benefits and education systems
  • Assist service users to manage friendships and family relationships
  • Accompany service users to appointments
  • Make timely records which are concise, accurate, written for the service user to understand, using Together computer-based systems
  • Take a lead on client data management
  • Write clear word-processed and handwritten reports and records in English
  • Contribute to contract compliance reporting and commissioning reporting
  • Participate in mandatory and job-related courses and learning activities
  • Model the highest levels of the Together Values commitment and associated behaviours, to provide a clear example for all colleagues
  • Ensure that Service User Leadership is at the heart of everything we do, embedding the service user leadership framework within policy, strategy and process

Financial & Practical Details

  • Pay: GBP 27,965.00 per annum (plus recruitment and retention allowance)
  • Working Hours: Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week – no shift work, no personal care duties
  • Mileage paid
