Job Purpose: To provide high quality Spanish teaching, classroom learning and Extra Curricular Sporting Opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- The pastoral care, safety, behaviour and safeguarding of NAISNY students.
- Ensure that the children in your care feel happy, safe, and secure and support those children who do not.
- Provide excellent learning opportunities and robust responsive teaching which promotes progress.
- Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities in line with the school’s PE and wider curriculum and to maximize student engagement and learning.
- Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities in line with the school’s curriculum in the subjects of Spanish when directed by the timetable.
- Ensure productive parent relationships through excellent face to face communications, email, ClassDojo and academic reports.
- Work with direct and support Learning Assistants to improve children’s learning opportunities.
- Take an active role in your own Professional Learning and Development through involvement in Teacher Learning Communities, Staff Meetings, external PLD opportunities and Nord Anglia University.
- Participate in the schools Quality Assurance process at regular intervals throughout the academic year.
- Implement school policies relevant to pastoral care, behaviour, teaching & learning and safeguarding within your class.
- Arrange and lead Educational trips in NY City and beyond.
- Work with the SLT and MAC team to organize the Co-Curricular Activities offer.
- Teach a set timetabled number of periods per week as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
- Any other tasks as directed by the Principal and/or the school’s leadership team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- A degree from an institution of higher learning.
- A recognized teaching qualification.
- At least three years Teaching Experience in a Primary or Middle School context and confidence to teach across the phases.
- Ability to demonstrate a clear track record of high-quality pastoral care and how to use Spanish to develop children’s social, emotional and personal aspects of learning.
- A creative approach to teaching & learning which blends knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of what is good teaching and learning.
- High expectations of children’s behaviour, social development, and academic outcomes.
- An inclusive ethos and a competitive spirit.
- Integrate technology into the classroom experience to enhance and extend the learning of students.
- Successfully teach students using technology in a virtual/hybrid environment.
