Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engineer
Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator based in Norwich, is currently seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engineer to join their QSSHE team, supporting operations in the Southern North Sea (SNS). This is a full-time, permanent position based in Norwich, with work Monday to Friday. The role requires travel to other sites.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Degree level (minimum HNC) qualification in Science or Engineering
- Preferably qualified Auditor to ISO 9001:2000 or CQI registered Auditor
- Proven track record of auditing and training auditors
- Fully knowledgeable of ISO 9000, API, and industry codes and standards
- Experience in audit processes and programmes
- Understanding of risk assessments
- 10+ years oil and gas QA/QC experience or at least 5 years relevant process industry experience
- 5+ years working within UK oil and gas regulatory frameworks
- Strong people management skills and effective communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality strategies and systems for SNS operations
- Promote continuous improvement in HSE and loss prevention
- Ensure compliance with QSSHE regulations and good practices
- Maintain a register of applicable codes and standards
- Support project teams in quality risk assessments and management
- Develop and audit Quality and Control Plans, ensuring ISO compliance
- Assess vendors and subcontractors for suitability
- Participate in FAT/SAT inspections
- Coach teams on SEMS compliance
- Review and approve contractors\’ quality documentation
- Implement and oversee contractor audits
- Interface with Contracts for QA/QC provisions
- Review quality plans and inspection points of vendors
- Support the Management Assurance Program and internal audits
- Maintain and facilitate the QSSHE management system
- Lead quality initiatives within SNS
- Support day-to-day QSSHE activities like risk reviews and HAZIDs
- Assist wider group in improving QSSHE standards and systems
- Ensure ongoing ISO certification compliance
