Maintenance SupervisorOur prestigious and market leading client, based in Shipdham, is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.This is a full time, permanent position, based in Shipdham.Primary accountabilities:
- Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to by employees and non-employees on site. Promote, encourage and support health and safety initiatives. Lead by example, ensure a safe working environment for employees.
- Quality, maintain the mill plant and equipment to continuously ensure the safe and wholesome production of our animal feeds. Investigate and take the necessary corrective actions to resolve any quality issues directly caused or influenced by the mill plant equipment.
- Maintenance job schedule. Establish a fitter’s job schedule on a weekly basis covering all the PPM and listed jobs. Ensure the full completion of planned jobs and report back on jobs not completed.
- Work closely with the production team and take necessary actions to correct underperformance of plant equipment and machinery. This will be through investigation, initiatives and working closely with the mill team.
- Monitor employee performance and take necessary corrective action to improve on employee underperformance. This includes work rate effectiveness, ability to follow instructions, timekeeping issues and conduct at work matters.
- Attend the morning operations meeting, support and drive communication and performance at the meeting.
- Effectively manage staff annual leave and timekeeping, avoiding the potential of excessive holiday to book at the end of the year. Check and sign off clocking cards for the maintenance team.
- Ensure staff training is completed effectively, timely and documented accordingly.
- Responsible for site activity and security during weekend working when the maintenance team are the only department on site.
- Keep the Operations Manager informed of maintenance requirements such as expenditure, issues preventing progress on repairs/improvements.
Other duties:
- Attend relevant meetings and be on time and present. Be engaging and add valuable input at the meetings.
- Support business improvement initiatives across all departments. Be part of those initiatives and fully support the progress and delivery of success.
Scope of the role: To effectively supervise the day-to-day maintenance staff, activity and tasks ultimately providing continuous production of the mill. The Supervisor role includes working hands on as a fitter with planned time to complete supervisory duties.Authorities:
- Authority to cease any operations deemed to be a potential safety, quality or environmental concern where no senior staff are available or contactable.
- Authority to call the emergency services, as required, in accordance with the Emergency Procedure Pack where no senior staff are available or contactable.
