LGV Driver
Our client, a global organisation is currently seeking an LGV Driver to join their team based in Great Yarmouth
This is a full time, permanent position, based in Great Yarmouth.
Hours:
45 hours per week Monday – Friday 45 min paid break)
Overtime paid at X 1.5 Monday – Saturday & X2 Sunday
This role will require long distance driving with overnight trips.
Qualifications
- Class 1 LGV Licence
- ADR License
- Tanks Dangerous Goods by Road Certificate
- Digi Tachograph Card
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours
- Experience of road tanker operations including the transport and safe handling of flammable/corrosive/toxic materials
- Fully conversant with all LGV driving regulations and legislation.
- Thorough understanding of waste documentation and special waste handling
- Thoroughly familiar with relevant safety procedures for tanker and waste operations
- Up to date knowledge of changes in road traffic laws
- Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team.
- Customer focused and the ability to build and maintain effective relationship, both internal and external
- Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Distance tanker operations ensuring safe handling and transportation of a wide range of hazardous materials and products
- Operation of curtain sided vehicle
- Carryout various LGV disciplines safely and efficiently to include waste vacuum road tankers and curtain sided vehicles.
- Inspection and maintenance of associated accessories and equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, vessels, hoses and couplings
- Completion and processing of all relevant customer and regulatory paperwork
- Ensure that all activity is co-ordinated in accordance with relevant company guidelines and statutory regulations
- Attend team brief / safety meetings as required
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained with all areas of responsibility
